Disaster Preparedness: A Refresher

Hello everyone! Illness has beset the clinic in recent weeks and has wiped out the staff at various intervals. Subsequently, we have not been able to get our blog posts up as frequently as we would wish. This coming Saturday (May 12, 2018) is National Animal Disaster Preparedness Day. Spring and summer bring severe weather, tornadoes, and hurricanes to the area. It is important to make sure that, in addition to having an emergency plan for your family, you have a plan in place to take care of your pets. Dr. Holland has done a previous blog on how to ensure your pets are ready, should a disaster event occur. Take a look here to get a refresher! We hope you will never need it, but you will feel much less stress in the moment, should it ever happen.

On a more light-hearted note, May 13 is National Frog Jumping Day. Mark Twain wrote a short story in 1865 called "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County." According to Wikipedia, "it was his first great success as a writer and brought him national attention."
